1. The excavation of the tell at Százhalombatta, Hungary, is still ongoing and although much analysis has been carried out, not all analyses were finished at the time of completing this chapter.

2. The relationship between houses and households is not always simple. For instance, L. Horne's ethnoarchaeological study of a contemporary village in Bakhestan showed that “rooms owned by a single household may be spatially dispersed within the village, contiguous rooms sometimes being owned by people who are not immediate kin.…it relates to local patterns of marriage and inherence” (David and Kramer 2001:294).
